
Joanne Coleman is a practice proprietor and has a special interest in the treatment of disorders of the musculo-skeletal system. She draws on a manipulative therapy post-graduate qualification to treat spinal based disorders. She also has a special interest in assisting sufferers of occupational overuse syndrome (OOS) and rehabilitation of chronic back problems.
In addition Jo has a Post Grad Diploma in Sports Medicine. She was the physiotherapist for the Silver Ferns for three years which included tours to Jamaica, South Africa and Commonwealth Games. Jo was also the physiotherapist for the New Zealand Women’s Hockey Team having toured with them to Italy and Germany and Holland for training prior to attending the Olympics in Athens.
Currently Jo is still involved with netball and the NZ Academy of Sport athletes.
Matt Wenham is a partner in the practice and brings an exercise prescription and gym rehabilitation focus from his previous Physical Education training, as well as post-graduate manipulative physiotherapy and acupuncture training.
Matt has had extensive involvement with national sports teams including NZ Rugby Sevens, NZ Tall Blacks, NZ Rugby U20's and NZ Black Ferns, as well as 10 years heading the medical/physio team at the Wellington International Rugby Sevens tournament amongst others. As a sports physiotherapist Matt has been involved in 3 World Championship campaigns (Black Ferns 2006, NZRU U20's 2008/2009) and during November and December 2009 will be touring with the NZRU Sevens team for the 2010 IRB series and Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
Sue Wenham graduated from Otago University with a bachelor of physiotherapy in 1994 and from AUT in 2004 with a post graduate diploma in manipulative therapy. In addition to that underwent postgraduate acupuncture training 2001/2002.
Sue is a local from the North Shore having grown up and schooled in Milford (Carmel College) and has returned after working in the USA and Wellington in both the public and private sectors to settle back on the shore.
Sue has a keen interest in multi-sport events having completed the 1 day and 2 day coast to coast (2002, 2001). Sue also plays hockey and has been team physiotherapist for soccer teams and international softball teams (Whitesox and Australian Mens).
Campbell Dixon-McIver graduated from Otago University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 1999. He has worked in Special Needs Schools in the greater Auckland area for 7 1/2 years. He is an avid sports fan and has played rugby around NZ and also in the USA. He is an active player for Marist North Harbour. He was the physiotherapist for the Siutaka Rugby Team (Auckland based Tongan Team) who toured Tonga in 2001. Campbell enjoys all sports but in particular touch rugby, running, cricket and karate. He grew up on the North Shore in Browns Bay and was schooled at Rosmini College.
Marcelle Foster Graduated from Otago School of Physiotherapy in 1989. Marcelle worked in Hawkes Bay before travelling and working in Canada and UK where she was a team physio for the UK Paralympic swimming squad. Returning to New Zealand in 1999 Marcelle has since worked on the North Shore in private practice. Being actively involved in triathlon and multisport Marcelle has a special interest in treating lower limb sports injuries. Marcelle is currently training for the New Zealand Ironman. Post graduate studies includes acupuncture to PAANZ registration level.
Peter Matheson is a newly graduated Physiotherapist who joined the team at Northcross at the beginning of 2009. Peter very quickly established himself on the North Harbour Rugby framework being the Team Physiotherapist to the NH Rugby 7s team who won the National title in January. Peter is also involved in the medical team for the International 7s Rugby Tournament in Wellington each February. Formerly a Northcote Club Premier Rugby player Peter will now be seen on the sidelines in his role as team Physiotherapist.
Peter has a keen interest in other sporting codes and keeps fit with running, gym and tennis activities.
Craig Parker graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2000.
Craig has worked extensively in musculoskeletal private practice both here and overseas and been associated with numerous top level sport teams. He has an interest in mechanical dysfunction and muscle balance assessment, particularly of the shoulder and lumbar/pelvic region. He is a qualified McKenzie therapist and completed Mulligan and Kinesio Taping concept courses.
Craig is currently completing his post-graduate studies at AUT Universtiy where he is also involved in teaching undergraduate students in his role as a clinical educator.
Schooled at Westlake Boys and growing up on the North Shore, Craig was a very keen rugby and cricket player but now prefers more forgiving activities like yoga and ocean swimming. Craig is very excited to join the team at North Cross and completing his studies in early 2010.
Lynne Cantwell is visiting New Zealand for a year from Ireland. She has a background in Sports and Exercise Science graduating from the University of Southampton, UK with a MSc (Physiotherapy). Lynne had private practice experience in Ireland while juggling a strength and conditioning role with a Rugby Academy in Munster, Ireland. She is a keen rugby player herself and represented Ireland and Munster for the past 8 years. She is playing Touch here in NZ and planning a club rugby role next season to pick up a few tricks from NZ Rugby.
In addition Lynne is a qualified Pilates Instructor and has a keen interest in Low Back Pain and Motor Control Rehabilitation. She recently spent one month in Curtin University, Perth to be awarded with a Diploma in Manual Therapy.
Lois Ferguson is responsible for the accounts and accredited employer claims and day to day tasks at reception. She is a keen sportswoman, being involved with coaching and playing outdoor netball. Lois is also a volunteer for the Riding for the Disabled. She also enjoys walking, travelling and cross stitch embroidery. She has been part of the team for the past nine and half years.
Jenny Wilson has joined our team after 16 years experience at the Institute of Sport Physiotherapy clinic. She will be responsible for day to day tasks and reception. Jenny enjoys walking and recently walked the Abel Tasman National Park track. She has an interest in Hot Rod and Classic Cars and along with her husband is a member of a car club which takes them to many social events. She also enjoys music, theatre, home decorating and loves to travel.
Sally Kail emigrated to NZ from Guernsey in 2003 and settled in Torbay in 2005. Loving the oudoor life over here, she enjoys spending time with her partner, cycling, running, going to the gym and walking her cocker spaniel, Thomas. Sally competes regularly in triathlons and did Ironman in 2007.
They both have a keen interest in sport and enjoy working with athletes of all abilities to help in their performance and recovery. They have worked with national representative teams in Rugby, Football, Hockey, Netball, Water Polo and Karate and with many MultiSport athletes.
