The people you will meet

Jo Kitchen's photoJoanne Kitchen (formerly Coleman) is a practice proprietor and has a special interest in the treatment of disorders of the musculo-skeletal system. She draws on a manipulative therapy post-graduate qualification to treat spinal based disorders. She also has a special interest in assisting sufferers of occupational overuse syndrome (OOS) and rehabilitation of chronic back problems.

In addition Jo has a Post Grad Diploma in Sports Medicine. She was the physiotherapist for the Silver Ferns for three years which included tours to Jamaica, South Africa and Commonwealth Games. Jo was also the physiotherapist for the New Zealand Women’s Hockey Team having toured with them to Italy and Germany and Holland for training prior to attending the Olympics in Athens.

Currently Jo is still involved with netball and the NZ Academy of Sport athletes.

Matt Wenham's photoMatt Wenham is a partner in the practice and brings an exercise prescription and gym rehabilitation focus from his previous Physical Education training, as well as post-graduate manipulative physiotherapy and acupuncture training.

Matt has had extensive involvement with national sports teams including NZ Rugby Sevens, NZ Tall Blacks, NZ Rugby U20's and NZ Black Ferns, as well as 10 years heading the medical/physio team at the Wellington International Rugby Sevens tournament amongst others. As a sports physiotherapist Matt has been involved in 3 World Championship campaigns (Black Ferns 2006, NZRU U20's 2008/2009) and during November and December 2009 will be touring with the NZRU Sevens team for the 2010 IRB series and Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

Sue Wenham's photoSue Wenham graduated from Otago University with a bachelor of physiotherapy in 1994 and from AUT in 2004 with a post graduate diploma in manipulative therapy. In addition to that underwent postgraduate acupuncture training 2001/2002. Sue is a local from the North Shore having grown up and schooled in Milford (Carmel College) and has returned after working in the USA and Wellington in both the public and private sectors to settle back on the shore.

Sue has a keen interest in multi-sport events having completed the 1 day and 2 day coast to coast (2002, 2001). Sue also plays hockey and has been team physiotherapist for soccer teams and international softball teams (Whitesox and Australian Mens).

Campbell Dixon-McIver's photoCampbell Dixon-McIver graduated from Otago University with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 1999. He has worked in Special Needs Schools in the greater Auckland area for 7 1/2 years. He is an avid sports fan and has played rugby around NZ and also in the USA. He is an active player for Marist North Harbour. He was the physiotherapist for the Siutaka Rugby Team (Auckland based Tongan Team) who toured Tonga in 2001. Campbell enjoys all sports but in particular touch rugby, running, cricket and karate. He grew up on the North Shore in Browns Bay and was schooled at Rosmini College.

Marcell Foster's photoMarcelle Foster Graduated from Otago School of Physiotherapy in 1989. Marcelle worked in Hawkes Bay before travelling and working in Canada and UK where she was a team physio for the UK Paralympic swimming squad. Returning to New Zealand in 1999 Marcelle has since worked on the North Shore in private practice. Being actively involved in triathlon and multisport Marcelle has a special interest in treating lower limb sports injuries. Marcelle is currently training for the New Zealand Ironman. Post graduate studies includes acupuncture to PAANZ registration level.

Jane Knobloch's photoJane Knobloch qualified as a Physiotherapist from Otago University then went on to complete her Masters Degree in Australia in 2006 and was based in Wellington for a few years. She has a keen interest in running, playing touch rugby and squash.

Jane has recently returned to NZ after working at the Scottish Institute of Sport in Edinburgh. While in Scotland she worked primarily with Judo and Swimming. Since returning she has also travelled to China as lead Physiotherapist within the NZ team for the World University Games and will be heading to Japan later this year with Athletics NZ.

Kate Savory's photoKate Savory recently joined the Northcross team after graduating from AUT in 2010. She has a passion for helping people achieve their goals in a physiotherapy setting and enjoys utilizing the gym facility with her patients. She has been involved with basketball, netball and hockey teams throughout the North Shore as a Physiotherapist and is working on increasing this involvement. Out of work hours Kate is busy training for hockey as part of the New Zealand Blacksticks squad.

Lois Ferguson's photoLois Ferguson is responsible for the accounts and accredited employer claims and day to day tasks at reception. She is a keen sportswoman, being involved with coaching and playing outdoor netball. Lois is also a volunteer for the Riding for the Disabled. She also enjoys walking, travelling and cross stitch embroidery. She has been part of the team for the past nine and half years.

Jenny Wilson's photoJenny Wilson has joined our team after 16 years experience at the Institute of Sport Physiotherapy clinic. She will be responsible for day to day tasks and reception. Jenny enjoys walking and recently walked the Abel Tasman National Park track. She has an interest in Hot Rod and Classic Cars and along with her husband is a member of a car club which takes them to many social events. She also enjoys music, theatre, home decorating and loves to travel.

Mike Davis and Michelle WatsonMassage Therapists

Michael and Michelle both graduated with Diplomas in Therapeutic Massage and Sports from the New Zealand College of Massage.

They both have a keen interest in sport and enjoy working with athletes of all abilities to help in their performance and recovery. They have worked with national representative teams in Rugby, Football, Hockey, Netball, Water Polo and Karate and with many MultiSport athletes.

Types of massage:
Sport, Deep Tissue, Relaxation, Trigger Point Therapy, Pregnancy and Myofacial Massage.
